Firefighters Force to Cover Up Tattoos
Firefighters Force to Cover Up Tattoos
This is completely ridiculous if you ask me. It seems that our Firefighter that live in Los Angles are being forced to cover up their tattoos when they are one the job, on call, or hanging out at the fire station. Some extremely ridiculous rule was passed banning firefighters to have their tattoos visible while on the job. This has forced many firefighter to have to wear turtle necks, gloves or bandages to comply with this nonsense rule. It also seems that a lot of these tattooed firefighters are being harassed because out their body art.
What in the world is going on people? This is 2008 not 1950. Tattoos are a way of life and right for anyone to have and not to mention that they are widely accepted not looked down upon. Trust me if someone was pulled out of a burning building by a firefighter that was covered in tattoos or had one on their neck or some other visible place I don’t think the rescuee would take offense to it. So this leads to say to those in charge of creating this rule that is not hurting or causing harm to anyone. Honestly, is it really worth all this trouble? If you answered yes then you need some serious help and need to start thinking about other ways to control firemen. How about working on a way for them to make more money? That seems like a better use of your time.

There isn’t a “union guy” on the planet that would endorse Big Jim for anything. I know you can’t seem to get your head around the facts, but he didn’t do us any favors. We got it tucked to us ten times worse than any other FD in the State! You didn’t see the names of the other firefighters involved on the front page a gazillion times. Normal Chiefs/Mayors handled it in a more sensible manner. They used discipline the way it is meant to be used, to correct a problem! Not to crucify someone in a transparent attempt to demoralize them and an entire department, both of them being the ultimate hypocrites having done numerous things as bad or worse. Whatever Jack, all you ever want to do is bicker and lie via an internet connection like a true COWARD. You have an ax to grind with firefighters for whatever reason and aren’t man enough to deal with it. You hide behind your computer, twist the facts, make stuff up and toss around insults [...]
Your camera has no idea you are using monolights, and is basing the exposure off the pop-up flash only. Everything is working as designed, you are not using the gear correctly.
You have to be in manual mode, none of the auto modes (green box, A, P, or S) will work properly with studio lighting. The camera will always overexpose your shots in any auto mode, because it has no idea that you are using a flash. It is up to you to select the aperture, shutter speed, and ISO to get the results you want.
If the D80 will allow you to control the flash power of the pop-up in manual mode (read the manual!) it should be turned down as far as possible. If not, you need another method of triggering your lights.
You can use a sync cord to one of the lights, which will trigger the other two. If the D80 does not have a PC sync port, you can add a Nikon AS-15 PC Sync port which sits in your [...]
