Neck Tattoos: How painful are they and should I get these ones?
Posted by admin | Under Neck Tattoos Monday Feb 8, 2010Okay, I’ve always loved neck tattoos and lately I’ve been thinking a lot of getting some. So how much do they hurt?
Also, I was thinking about getting a tilted small dragon fly a little bit below the back of my right ear and on the other side a couple stars.
Do these sound like good ideas?
I have a skull & heart tattoo that covers the back of my neck and that by far, was the worst pain I’ve ever felt. I have one on my chest but that was nothing compared to this one. It felt like it was on fire and I almost passed out. It didn’t help that the artist took a 15 minute break and when he came back, the pain was even worse.
But in the end it was worth it. If you want it that bad go for it, the pain is only temporary!
I’ve heard that behind the ear doesn’t hurt, I have many friends with some ones behind their ears.
A friend of mine has a tattoo behind her ear, and she said it was the least painful of all 5 she has.

I have one on my neck…I thought it would be a piece of cake to get, since I have a tattoo that stretches all across my stomach and my artist said that was probably the most painful spot to get on, so I assumed if I could handle that with no problem…neck would be easy.
It’s not that bad towards the back, just behind the ear….but other than that it’s pretty much unbearable. Parts of mine are still messed up because I kept hitting the artist when he was doing it because it hurt so bad.

No one can tell you how much it is going to hurt. It depends on your pain tolerance.
If you’re wanting a dragonfly behind your ear, you’re not going to be able to get much detailing in it because the area is so small. Stars are kind of boring and unoriginal in my opinion. Everyone has stars.
