It had endless pages and pages of exposition which might have been better handled in a few well written lines of dialog. Every character was morally bankrupt including the main character who was a hypocrite in criticizing businessmen who abused their trust while he couldn't be faithful to his wife or his mistress. It inspires me to believe that clearly anyone can make money if a book is hyped enough and appeals to the lowest common denominator in the American public, Perversion, violence, hate, hypocrisy appeal to what is worst in us. That is what the Girl in the Dragon Tattoo does in a horrible, mundane writing style.
