Yes it does depend on where you get the tattoo. If you get it on your foot of course its going to be a little more painful then if you were to get it on your arm or such. As for the feeling it feels like a safety pin repeatedly being poked into where ever your getting it. Its does burn a little but usually after they wipe it down it feel soothing but it will stay swollen and red/bloody for a bit as well as sore for a few days.
Everyone accepts pain differently so you may be able to tolerate it better than you think. Usually its not recommended to take any type of drugs or drink any alcohol because it can cause you to bleed more.
